Karen-Symone Lee is a coily hair illustrator and children’s book author based in Ripon, California. Using her colorful, playful, narrative image-making to express herself across mediums such as digital, design, and books.
She graduated from California College of the Arts with a BFA in Illustration with a minor in Writing. Karen received an M.A. in Education from Alder Graduate school of Education. She also worked as an illustration and design intern for the Tenderloin Business Association for the annual event of Thai New Year in San Francisco.
She enjoys looking toward her love for culture, experiences, and identity to inspire her. Through her work, she hopes to create a space to talk about important topics that reside in both society and culture.
