Die Standing is an upcoming children's book developed in collaboration with Elmer Dixon, co-founder of the Black Panther Party (Seattle chapter). The book is based on Elmer's personal story, woven into the broader history of the Party — bringing a piece of civil rights history to a young audience through illustration and narrative.Karen is illustrating original artwork for the book and designing its page layouts and text placement, working closely with Elmer to align the visual storytelling with the pacing of his story.
